MultiCAT
The computer-adaptive core of the MultiCAT tests consists of multiple-choice items in two categories: reading and language in context. The more than 500 items for each language and for each section of the test are based on authentic texts taken from original second-language print, audio, and video sources, presented in their original formats (e.g., newspaper articles, advertisements, literary texts, graphics, reports, etc.) The development of a listening component is under consideration.
The MultiCAT project was funded by the US Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education and more recently by OSU's College of Humanities and the Ohio Board of Regents.
