Students will understand and respond to the informal greeting "Salut !" (Hi!/ Bye!)
Students will understand the expressions "
Comment t'appelles-tu ?" (What's your name?)
and "
Je m'appelle..." (My name is...), and will be able to respond accordingly when called upon.
Communicative Objective:
After this 5 minute lesson, students should be able to:
greet a friend
introduce themselves when they meet new people
T = teacher

SS = students Presentation: (1 minute and 30 seconds)
T clearly pronounces the word "salut" several times waving her hand and drawing
attention to the rising intonation. T asks SS to repeat the word.
T points to herself, then to her badge, says her name and writes it on the blackboard.
T models the sentence "
Je m'appelle (Laura)," repeats it clearly several times.
Practice: (1 minute and 30 seconds)
T asks SS to introduce themselves: "Je m'appelle ......."
Application: (2 minutes)
T shakes hands with SS and has them practice saying "
salut" and "
Je m'appelle..."
T has SS get up and greet each other:
Salut! Je m'appelle Laura.
Salut! Je m'appelle ........
